Meet Mealani

I believe that my purpose in this life is to provide human beings with the resources and tools to become the highest version of themselves. Each of us has the innate ability to live a life of purpose. I am simply a guide to support you in arriving there.
I take a holistic approach to therapy by working with the whole person. I navigate the therapeutic relationship in a real, honest and direct way while also providing empathy and compassion.
My approach is based on the biological, social, spiritual, and systematic lens. I take a client-centered, solution-focused, and trauma-informed stance on treatment. I tend to combine Eastern and Western philosophy as a means to create balance within one's life. I also use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and Brain Spotting.

LEARN MORE ABOUT:
My approach to therapy can be best described as holistic and integrative. I draw from multiple modalities and apply them when it feels most applicable. I am client-centered, solution-focused, and trauma-informed. I pull from multiple practices of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Brain Spotting, Somatic, and Narrative Therapy.

As Bessel Van Der Kolk says, “Our body keeps the score." Essentially, that means that our bodies remember and learn to respond accordingly. Our biology, psychology, social structures, spirituality, family history, gender, race, and the micro and macro systems in place impact the lens through which we see and interact with the world around us. While we can’t change everything in life, we can learn to better understand ourselves and our patterns. This will ultimately lead to improving our lives and our connection with ourselves.

I approach with a perspective of neuroscience, nutrition, and intergenerational/ systemic trauma. Generally, I gravitate toward a bio-psycho-social-spiritual and systemic approach to therapy. This provides concrete tools, understanding, and a shifting of all that impacts people in their lives. I am committed to serving all human beings, and I welcome all genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations.
