Meet Andrew:

My style as a therapist is a mix of Humanistic and Client-Centered approaches. Rather than the “knowing expert” stance of the traditional psychoanalyst, I put collaboration and curiosity in the forefront of my work. My genuine interest in my clients makes it very rewarding to help them achieve their goals and find personal fulfillment – through paths that we discover together.

I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, families, teens, and adults. I’m particularly comfortable with the topics and challenges of depression, anxiety, addiction, ADHD, grief & bereavement, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and finding a way out of the “stuckness” which I’ve heard so many clients describe.

When it’s of interest to my clients, I draw from the principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS), and help clients identify and cultivate a deeper connection with their various parts—whether they are protective, wounded, or yet to be discovered. By fostering curiosity and empathy toward them in-sessions, I support clients in transforming their relationships with these parts. This ultimately facilitates healing, integration, and psychological relief.

Of particular note,  I believe that the interests, hobbies, and the popular media to which we are drawn should be shared and celebrated in session, as invaluable ways of understanding ourselves and the world around us.  To name a few, I’ve enjoyed deeply meaningful work with clients whom I helped weave the following topics into their sessions:  Video games, baking, competitive sports, fan-fiction, astrology, lyric/song-writing, art, podcasts, tabletop role-playing games, and online content creation.

I love working together to uncover the archetypes, lessons, metaphors, and true humanity that can be found in the interests my clients hold dearest.
